Mobility is important because it affects your ability to move freely throughout your daily activities without pain and strain, even outside of strenuous movements like squatting or dead lifting. Whether it's picking up something on the floor, reaching for the top cabinet or getting out of bed in the morning, it's important to continuously move and keep your joints healthy.
For athletes, since mobility is the ability of a joint to move actively through a range of motion, mobility helps to move more efficiently allowing for ease of movement through an active range of motion, increased performance and reduced injury risk. When you’re more mobile, you can train harder, recover faster, and perform better.
